Jeremiah 17:5-8

5 This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD.

6 He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.

7 “But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.

8 He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Some dad(s) do have them.

Happy Chinese New Year from the coughing and sneezing Rachael… *wipes nose*

Okay, now, let me tell you what kinda daughters some fathers have.

#1

Early this morning, while I was still sleeping, dad came into my room, fixed the work lamp that my mum bought for me yesterday. He turned the switch on and the light was yellow. So I exclaimed, “Dad, how come yellow one? Isn’t it supposed to be white?”. My dad replied, “Incandescent is always yellow. Fluorescent is white”. And I said, “You mean I bought the wrong bulb? But I took the bulb next to the display lamp and the display lamp had white light!”

Brenda said one day, “Che (which means older sis), can you please drive me _______ to buy _______. Please, please, please. After that I’ll cook something nice and we can have a small party while watching a movie as a reward”. So I agreed, drove her to that place where you can never actually find available parking, so I double parked. “Che, come down also lah”. Me said, “No, later kena saman ah”. It was good thing I didn’t go down coz the saman officer was just around the corner. Finally she came back, showed me what she bought, I thought it was good and I told her to go buy another one. The second time she came back, we were good to leave. As I was driving, she said, “Che, if only we had a brother” and I replied, “Why?”. So she answered, “So that, if he was younger, he would be the one going down to buy, not me. And, if he was older, he would be the one who would have to drive and wait in the car then both of us can go down and choose.” Yeah, I wish I had a brother too…
